ANGEL TREE GIVING PROGRAM
Ladies of Charity assists with the organization of this Christmas giving program for the involvement of the entire parish.
BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY
Bereavement ministry minsters to families of our deceased parishioners. We pray the Rosary before the funeral or memorial Masses and assist with repast. Thanks to the office staff who help us with the communications with the families.
ALL SOULS DAY RECEPTION
We provide a reception after a Mass for all families of those who have died in the previous year.
CARE AND COMPASSION MINISTRY
Providing members of Resurrection parish with companionship and helping with simple needs as requested.
COLLECTIONS AFTER MASS
In past years we have had collections after our weekend Masses to help support local charities. Through the generous donations of the Resurrection Parish Community, we have been able to assist several organizations including the Red Door, St Winifred’s food pantry and the St Vincent De Paul Society among others.
DIAPER DRIVE
We run a diaper drive in the spring of each year.
EASTER BAGS
Ladies of Charity provide children at Angel’s Place with Easter goodies.
RED DOOR/LUNCHES FOR THE HUNGRY MINISTRY
The Lunches for the Hungry/Red Door programs provides food for those in need. Volunteers assemble bags of requested snacks several times a month.
PROJECT LINUS
Join with other Ladies of Charity once a month to create blankets for sick children. No sewing skills needed! This group meets on the third Monday of the month in the Reardon room at St John Capistran.
SING-ALONGS
Ladies of Charity, along with family and friends, go to local nursing homes to serenade the residents.
THANKSGIVING PIE COLLECTION
The week before Thanksgiving we invite parishioners to bake or donate store bought pies for those in need.
THOSE WE HAVE HELPED
We have helped individual families in need, the Saint Winifred Food Pantry, the Ladies of Charity of St. Mary of the Mount - Red Door lunches, the Holy Spirit Mission in the Dominican Republic with Father Don McEachin, FOR Community Center in McKees Rocks, Operation Safety Net in downtown Pittsburgh, the Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh, Catholic Charities Free Health Care Center in downtown Pittsburgh and many other charities.
We appreciate the continued support of our parish community so that we can serve, rather than be served, in humility, simplicity and charity.
SPECIAL THANKS - Special thanks go out to our donors who give to us through the United Way and our after Mass collections. You help us to help others.
