MISSION PROJECT LOVE

The goal of Mission Project Love is to deepen the sacramental covenant of marriage while endorsing healthy Marriage and Family Ministries within Resurrection Parish, thus strengthening the Church as a whole.
 
Our proven programs will achieve the goal of strong foundational support in the Sacrament of Marriage, fostered within the church community; while couples develop personal relationships with our savior, Jesus Christ.

Here at Resurrection Parish, the strength of our community MUST begin with marriages and families. We ask our Lord and Savior that all of our vulnerabilities and weaknesses be transformed by the power of God's love working through all souls united in his name.

Mission Project Love uses a three-pillar approach to encourage loving engaged walks, strong parenting encounters, healthy lasting marriages, and/or healings from divorce:

~FALL in LOVE~

Our first pillar, "Fall in Love" develops the foundations of the Marriage Sacrament with our engaged couples on an individualized journey, meeting couples where they are in their faith walk.

• Engaged Couple Mass Blessing: The couple's first welcome into the church community for recognition in starting their engaged love walk.
• Engaged Love Walk: Couples receive 10 hours of personalized (1 on 1) sessions with a marraige ambassador to discuss a faith & sacrament refresh, including:
  • The 'FOCUS" Inventory, a pre-marriage relationship inventory questionnaire that develops couples knowledge of one another in topics of family, faith, friends, careers, etc.
  • Book Study where couples learn authentic church teachings, refresh sacrament knowledge, and dig deeper into gaining relationship tools.
  • Ceremony Planning: Individualized, using Lectio Divina to deepen the meaning behind ceremony selections.
• Joy-Filled Marriage or Diocesan Marriage Program: A facilitated weekend where couples receive 8+ hours of diocesan required preparation; including speakers and marriage mentors, in either an in-person weekend format, or online one-on-one sessions.

Here at Resurrection Parish, all couples committed to success and striving for excellence in marriage complete the Love Journey. They are rewarded with being fully prepared for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, and are better prepared to confront the challenges that married life presents.

~GROW in LOVE~

The second pillar, "Grow in Love" guides and informs parents on how to engage their children in the faith, as well as navigate the current issues and social threats facing Catholic parenting.

"PARENTING WITH PRAISE": Workshop-based parenting classes that teach couples how to create a Christocentric family while mirroring the qualities and virtues of the Holy Family. The workshops present age-related topics that parents may attend throughout the school year, with formation geared toward age-specific needs and issues. These are run by teachers and parents who are experienced in current, relevant topics and who are deeply devoted to raising Catholic families.

• Early Learners: Begins to educate couples on parenting styles and choices with a Catholic perspective right from the start for thir children ages 0-5 years.
• Elementary: Faith-based guidance on tackling social influences, physical influences, and emotional changes when parenting children 6-12 years of age.
• Teens: Discovers answers to "Who am I?" and "What am I here for?" while encouraging a lifelong faith practice for your 13-18 year olds.

~STAY in LOVE~

The goal of the third pillar, "Stay in Love", is to deepen the saramental covenant that a husband and wife make on their wedding day.

We understand and feel the difficulties we all battle in our marriages - our society and culture promote and encourage immorality, selfishness, divided families, and freedom outside the union of matrimony. Research strongly supports that the best way to strengthen communities is by strengthening marriages to build better families.

Couples in strong marriages understand with each life storm, God strengthens and endows abundant graces to the couple to expand their love in order to conquer that particular challenge. We offer programs that provide support and grow deeper connections between spouses:

• "REVIVE" Marriage Walk: An individualized program that helps couples recommit to their covenant promise using the "Refocus" communication inventory presented to them. The use of a couples Book Study re-educates the husband and wife on the gifts of a sacrificial marriage and the benefits of spiritual graces.
• Married Couples Retreats & Workshops: Special times for couples to stop daily obligations and reconnect with their partner, gaining tools to grow a blessed and strong union together.
• Date Nights: Moments set aside for "two to become one" by way of more togetherness; creating new connections and a deeper intimacy through Dancing/Game Nights/Relationship Talks/Wine & Beer Tastings/Babes & Boys Nights/and more!
• Renew Marriage Vows: Annual Mass celebrating maritial love with the whole parish community; renewing the commitment of love inside a Mass with a reception following.
• Surviving Divorce Workshops: Life challenges happen and we understand that marriages can suffer to the point of separation and divorce. While no longer a married couple, you are always entitled to and invited to the Love of God. Allow the church to assist you in your healing and growth. Stay with and grow deeper in love with your faith as a member of the body of Christ.

~How to SERVE in LOVE~

• The Mentoring Program: Become a couple that walks alongside the engaged couples from the beginning of their Engaged Walk through their Marriage - supporting, encouraging and listening along the way.
• Marriage Preparation: Joy-Filled Marriage speakers, baby-sitters, event-day help/servers
• Feet-on-the-Ground Help: Event-day support, setup, table leaders, support crew
• Anniversay Card Mailroom Crew: Recognizing members of the parish who are celebrating marriage milestone years - 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 45, 50, 60+!
