Mary Beth Pierson/Coordinator

The purpose of the Marthas Ministry is to provide nourishment in a time of need, while the family is dealing with the loss of a loved one.

Men and women prepare and serve a luncheon for the family and friends of the deceased in the Family Life Center or Capistran Hall, to be served following the funeral Mass.

Volunteers for the Marthas are typically needed during the day to setup, prepare, and serve meals. Mary Beth Pierson coordinates this ministry. When a funeral Mass is scheduled, Mary Beth sends email messages to volunteers to see who is available.

The Ladies of Charity Bereavement Ministry minsters to families of our deceased parishioners. We pray the Rosary before the funeral or memorial Mass and assist with repast, thanks to the office staff who help coordinate communications with the families. The Rosary is prayed a half hour before the funeral by a small but dedicated group of faithful parishioners who are a consistent part of this ministry.  We welcome anyone who would like to join us.
