As school ends and the summer begins, we reflect back on another incredible year both inside and outside of our classrooms, marked by spiritual, academic and personal growth alike in each of our students. As we’ve watched our students grow throughout the year, and especially as our eighth-grade students leave us to embark on the next phase of their academic journeys, we are reminded of the core values that we work to instill in our students each and every day.
Over the last year, we’ve worked together as a school community to create Ave Maria Academy’s Portrait of the Graduate. Through this collaborative effort, we reaffirmed our dedication to Catholic values and academic excellence, and identified the key competencies our students must develop from the time they join our school community through their 8th grade graduation.
The four key domains of our Portrait of the Graduate are as follows:
Catholic Values: AMA graduates courageously live their faith through gospel values. They live as disciples of Christ in service of their communities.
Academic & Learning Skills: AMA graduates are innovative, creative thinkers and problem solvers. They possess a learner’s mindset and have well-rounded content knowledge.
Character Development: AMA graduates are adaptable, respectful, confident, and empathetic. They are collaborators and value integrity.
Future Ready: AMA graduates are responsible, resourceful and goal-oriented. They are leaders and communicators.
The Portrait of the Graduate represents Ave Maria Academy’s vision for the values, skills, character traits, and social-emotional competencies that students need to succeed in academic pursuits, career, and life. Together with our families, we prepare AMA graduates to achieve their goals, strive for balance, and continue growing.
