As we begin a new year and with Lent just around the corner, the Resurrection Parish Lenten Fish Frys will begin on Friday, March 7. For this Parish fundraiser, the Diocese of Pittsburgh and Fr. Mike, our pastor, require clearances and total compliancy for all volunteers. To assist anyone in need of clearances or to update them, the Safe Environment staff will be offering a number of workshops. They will be held on:
Wednesday, January 22 in the Reardon Room at St. John Capistran at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 6 in the former Parish Library at St. Thomas More at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 19 in the Reardon Room at St. John Capistran at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, February 19 in the former Parish Library at St. Thomas More at 6:00 p.m.
Prior to signing up to volunteer at a Fish Fry, please check with the Safe Environment staff to make sure that your clearances are current. The deadline for the first Friday fish fry (March 7) to be totally compliant is Wednesday, February 26. For each Friday fish fry during Lent, the deadline to be compliant is 10 days prior to your scheduled shift.
Susie Levitt, Safe Environment Coordinator, and Marlene Kish, Safe Environment Assistant Volunteer, will be on hand at the workshops to give you the necessary paperwork and assistance to help you with the clearance process. Sarah Wildenhain, Assistant Safe Environment Coordinator, is available by appointment to help you if you want an individual meeting. You can email her at [email protected] or call her at the Parish Office at 412.833.0031, ext. 230. We are here to help you!
We look forward to seeing you at the Resurrection Parish Lenten Fish Frys as a totally compliant volunteer! Thank you for all you do for the Parish and for doing all that you can to keep His most vulnerable safe.
