WHAT IS A PARISH MISSION? A parish mission is like a spiritual revival during which a speaker preaches the Gospel and inspires people to greater spiritual growth. It is designed for busy people; an opportunity to step back a bit, to slow down and simply reconnect with God; a time of spiritual refreshment and invigoration.
WHO IS THE MISSION FOR?? A parish mission is for everyone. “It surprises a lot of people how much younger people really enjoy mission”, Fr. Ron says, “The mission experience is one of scripture, laughter, reflection and prayer. It is designed to draw people into a deeper relationship with Jesus; an excellent opportunity for anyone struggling in or questioning their faith.”
TELL ME ABOUT THE SPEAKER! Fr. Hoye is a member of the Congregation of the Mission, also known as the Vincentians. He has been leading parish mission for more than 15 years to parishes all over the United States and Canada. His missions blend humor, story, and spiritual reflection in a 50 minute presentation that appeals to all ages. He will be speaking at all Masses the weekend of September 30/October 1 as well as presiding at the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. John Capistran on Monday and Tuesday.
